Fish of The Week: Chucho de Rio/ River Dog/Short-Tailed River Stingray(Potamotrygon Brachyura) ![]() This stingray is known as a killer. It lives in fresh water rivers in South America, and is known as a silent assassin. This ray has evolved so that it can only live in fresh water. This ray can be easily 200 pounds without a tail, guts taken out, dehydrated, andhaving its blood dripping out. The chucho de rio is very deadly due to its "mini-teeth" over its body, its short, club-like tail, and the barbs and venom on its tail. Unlike most stingray, the tail is club-like, instead of long and thin. |
